Samborondón, March 27, 2023 On Thursday, March 23, 2023, family and friends gathered at the UEES Convention Center to celebrate 125 students from La Moderna’s 35th graduating class, who officially received their diplomas as high school graduates of the Republic of Ecuador. These graduates are prepared to apply their knowledge and skills in a global environment. Through the education they received at La Moderna, and the strong abilities developed through the school’s bilingual programme, they are ready to make a positive contribution to society. During the ceremony, outstanding students were recognised with Cambridge English language certifications and French language certifications supported by the Alliance Française of Guayaquil, awarded to those who achieved the highest scores in languages. Students were also recognised in areas including Humanities, Entrepreneurship, Technology and Health, as well as for their achievements in academic and athletic disciplines. The ceremony also honoured loyal families who had been part of La Moderna from Preschool through to the final year of Secondary School. They received gifts and keepsakes in appreciation of their trust and support over the years. It was a moving moment, filled with applause and emotion. The work of La Moderna’s International Baccalaureate Programme and International Relations Department was reflected in the international university admissions achieved by several students from the 35th graduating class. Students were accepted to institutions including the University of Navarra in Spain, Universidad Zamorano in Honduras, Gonzaga University, Arizona State University, Fordham University, Villanova University, the University of Notre Dame, Southern Utah University and many more in the United States. National universities, including UEES, ECOTEC, Universidad Católica and Universidad San Francisco de Quito, also awarded scholarships to top students from the graduating class. It was a meaningful and deeply emotional moment for all students and the wider La Moderna community.
