August 2025 Edition Rector’s Message Dear families, We sincerely thank every student, family and teacher for being an active part of our school. August has been a month full of challenges and achievements: we proudly celebrated classroom projects where parents were invited to attend, reflecting the commitment and talent of our students; we enjoyed the great success of the University Fair, which opened new horizons for our young people; and we strengthened our bonds of fraternity through the Primary Olympics, filled with joy and companionship. We would also like to share that we have implemented a new dismissal procedure for the Primary section, always with the aim of ensuring the safety of our children. Let us continue building, together, a united educational community where every step is a reason for pride and hope for the future. Featured News Primary Olympics La Moderna’s courts were filled with colour, energy and sporting spirit as students from 2nd to 7th Grade took part in the Primary Olympics. Each class shared moments of joy, strengthening unity, respect and teamwork. University Fair On 15 August, Bachillerato students had the opportunity to meet representatives from more than 28 higher education institutions, both national and international. This event allowed them to explore academic programmes, scholarships and benefits for their next steps. Project Presentations Throughout the week, Preschool, Primary and Secondary students presented their projects, with parents invited to attend their children’s exhibitions. This experience helped students strengthen their skills in different areas, encouraging them to apply the knowledge acquired in class to real-life contexts. Achievements and Recognitions Spelling Bee, English Competition Our students stood out in the inter-school Spelling Bee competition. Their preparation and talent allowed Daniel to achieve First Place and Emma Fifth Place. We recognise their effort and congratulate them on this academic achievement. Award at the “New Voices” Inter-School Choir Festival The members of the Choir participated in the “New Voices” Inter-School Festival. On 27 August, La Moderna had the honour of hosting the choral concert, bringing together three institutions and providing a space to share talent, strengthen students’ musical experience and celebrate their passion for singing. Thanks to their discipline and effort, our students achieved First Place in the Primary category of this competition. We congratulate them on their dedication and commitment. Upcoming Events Events Calendar 6 September – Preschool Olympics Our youngest students will enjoy a sports day full of fun, teamwork and school spirit. Location: Covered Court 10 September – Workshop “Your Mark on Your Children’s Future” A space for dialogue and guidance for parents of 3rd Year Bachillerato students, aimed at strengthening communication with their children and supporting them in the important choice of their academic future. Location: Auditorium 26 September – Pledge to the Flag Our students will honour their country through a solemn ceremony that reinforces the values of commitment, respect and love for Ecuador. Location: Covered Court Sharing Achievements and Learning Opportunities Interinstitutional Agreements This month, opportunities for our student community are strengthened through the signing of institutional agreements. We highlight the agreement with Humane Tecnológico Universitario de Negocios, which offers our students benefits such as preferential scholarships to support their academic development. This institution provides valuable tools for the development and growth of the student community. In addition, the agreement with Instituto Superior Tecnológico Blue Hill College offers our students benefits such as direct admission without a preparatory course or entrance exam, as well as scholarships. This institution allows students to complete a semester or finish their studies abroad, expanding their academic and professional opportunities.
